Post natural disasters

Volcanic eruptions, soil disturbances, advancing and retreating glaciers, and tectonic activity, among others, are events that repeatedly test plant communities. Disruptions of this magnitude trigger an ecosystem rehabilitation process, where pioneer plants play an essential role, as they become in charge of starting the regeneration process, capturing carbon, generating biomass and, together with multiple organisms, producing what we know as soil.
